I'm not much of a computer expert, I use Mac and just use the Avast free version and it seemed to be good enough. However, my parents are using a PC, and while looking up whether he has an active Norton antivirus subscription (they were asking him to upgrade again) I realised he's actually using ESET instead.
Which begs the questions: 1) why is Norton asking him to renew his subscription when the program isn't even installed in the computer (it originally came with the Lenovo computer but just expired - it doesn't automatically delete itself right?!), 2) should I just use the free Avast as opposed to paying for ESET?
Thanks!
