Hi, I can't get online so am trying to uninstall AVG to see if that is the problem. It won't uninstall the usual way, so I downloaded the AVG removal tool onto a flash drive from another computer. But when I try to run the tool, it wants to update first -- which it can't do because it can't get online! Any ideas? Many thanks.

Hi, thank you for your answer. Yes, afraid I am still getting the same message. When I try to run the uninstall tool, it wants to update but cannot update because I can't get online with the problem computer, and so I am stuck in a catch 22 situation. :(

Hi, thank you for all your help. Unfortunately, I still cannot uninstall AVG even in safe mode. I get Error code 0xC007064C when I try to uninstall from the control panel. And when I run the removal tool, I get the message that the removal tool needs to update, which it cannot do because it cannot get online. I am also unable to fill in the little form that is used to get assistance, as I cannot get online. This problem occurred after I downgraded from Windows 10 back to Windows 7. Ever since then I get a message every time I switch the computer on saying that an AVG reinstallation is required for it to function properly because I 'upgraded the operating system'. However, AVG can't run the 'reinstall now' because .. it can't get online o/ (This is me throwing my hands in the air in despair).
